Final Stage – Camino de Santiago

Geoff has just committed to walking the final stage of the Camino de Santiago with the four friends he started with a couple of years ago, they have been walking a few weeks each year.  This will be the first completed long distance walk.  A rough guide to what he expects to do is as follows:

Day 1 – Fly & travel to O Cebreiro

Day 2 – O Cebreiro-Triacastela                          12.7 miles / 20.5 kilometres

Day 3 – Triacastela-Sarria                                  13.4 miles / 21.5 kilometres

Day 4 – Sarria-Portomarín                                  13.8 miles / 22 kilometres

Day 5 – Portomarín-Palas do Rei                      15.2 miles / 24.5 kilometres

Day 6 – Palas do Rei-Arzúa                                17.8 miles / 28.7 km

Day 7 – Arzúa-Lavacolla                                     17.9 miles / 28.8 km

Day 8 – Lavacolla – Santiago de Compostela  6.4 miles / 10.3 km

Day 9 – Santiago – Departure

So between now and then we must try and get some training walks in.  Lets hope its not a harsh winter !
